Overall it’s a good series. It does drag out a bit. This should have and could have easily been a trilogy or even 2 books. 10 short books is very excessive. The books feel like chapters. Each book is very short and leaves on a cliffhanger in order for you to purchase the next $2.99 book. There are many misspellings and errors, but the books are fun and entertaining , so you tend to look over them.I’m not disappointed I read the series, but I am disappointed in the obvious money pit.
This was a very short, okay read. This short story, a little less than 90 pages is about a foster boy who is in love with the daughter of the woman who took him in. As adults now, they try to fight the feelings and attraction and continue dating other people. Royce is running the streets while school teacher Mika works to keep her students from those same streets. Lots of errors that should have been corrected during editing, lots of profanity, but plot is interesting enough. However, I see this is part of a 10 part series. Really? A series should never been that long, especially when each book is less than 100 pages. Wasn't interesting enough to commit to the series, let alone book 2.
I bought this for a long flight, and read this book before realizing that it was part of a series. I hate getting caught up in most serial books. But this was interesting enough that at my layover stop I had to buy the next few in the series. Then while on my vacation I wound up buying and completing all 10 books in the series. So basically I paid $30 to read the whole story line. It was a fun read. Guess I will just have to be more careful when buying these novels in the future.
Good read the storyline was good and consistent. I liked the flow of the characters as I’ve read a few books by this author and they too were good.. I left the 5th star off due to there being a few grammatical errors and having to reread a few sentences to make them make sense. But overall it’s a good book and yes I will be reading part 2 the story did not disappoint.
This book was trash. The characters were one dimensional and had zero depth, the plot was predictable, and the writing was amateurish at best. Subtle details were missing throughout the book which made many parts either unrealistic or unbelievable. The only positive I'll give to the writer is that the dialogue didn't sound forced. I read all types of books from classic literature to hood novels and this was one of the worst "hood" novels or street lit I've ever read. I'm not even interested in purchasing the rest of the series to see if the characters hook up or not. Hopefully, as the author continues to write, she will work on developing her craft. Good luck to her.
Mia Black you did a Superb job on this book. I've read other books by you as well, but I couldn't put this one down. It's like I got sucked into this story. Royce is in love with that girl ain't no denying that. She loves him too. They're going to end up together eventually, just watch. Looking forward to book two.
The first few chapters were cliche, the same as most black American chick flix start out.... It took a while for it pick up... Now I can say so far so good. I'm noticing from the few books I've read by this author, the beginning start out slow ðŸŒ.
Pretty good book aside from all the typos. I still want to read more into the series 😠I feel like if the second book is as good as the first I'll follow the author.
